Archaeological monitoring took place of excavations for a gas main at Bride Street, Wexford town. The site is located within the historic town of Wexford (WX037-032—-) and to the north of the site of the parish church of St Bridget, WX037-032018— (within the grounds of the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption) and its associated graveyard (WX037-032037–).

The monitoring was carried out at the request of Gas Networks Ireland (GNI). The author monitored the works between 5 and 12 May 2026 in dry and sunny conditions. In general, the stratigraphy comprised tarmac, overlying made ground varying in composition from gravelly clay to reddish sand. The trench was generally excavated to 700mm metres below Modern Ground Level and was 500mm in width. Numerous older services and ducts were present throughout. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
