Archaeological test-trenching was undertaken at a site of a proposed private dwelling in the townland of Bawnfune, Co. Waterford. Following a Further Information request issued by Waterford City & County Council, an Archaeological Impact Assessment, including archaeological testing of the proposed development area, was requested to be undertaken by a suitably qualified archaeologist. The site lies partially within the Zone of Archaeological Potential (ZAP) associated with a souterrain (WA001-043—-).
A total of six archaeological test-trenches were excavated across the proposed development area. No archaeological finds, deposits or features, including buried ditches or other evidence of archaeological activity, were identified during the course of testing.
