Archaeological test trenching was carried out here. A total of 63 test trenches were proposed, and 60 trenches were excavated down to natural. Trenches 35, 36 and 37 could not be excavated due to limited access to this area of the site. A layer of topsoil consisting of a mid-light brown silty clay covered the site and was removed to a layer of clean creamy yellow boulder clay, which was reached at a depth of 0.2-0.4m. No features of archaeological significance were identified, and no artefacts were recovered.
Monitoring during topsoil stripping was recommended in the area with limited access during future works (Field 7).
