A programme of archaeological test trenching was undertaken in the townland of Summerhill, County Meath. A total of eight trenches were mechanically investigated across the test area, totalling 748 linear metres. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified during the testing programme. The artefactual assemblage recovered during the metal detection survey comprised 30 items. Most finds were copper alloys (n=18), primarily coins, with additional artefacts including a silver shoe buckle, two lead musket balls, one lead button, an iron horseshoe, and a brass tap. The assemblage recovered during the metal detection survey comes from the topsoil and dates from the late 17th century onwards.
