Test excavations took place at Colp West, Drogheda, Co. Meath, on 26 June 2026 in sunny and warm conditions, for the Department of Education and Skills.

Six test trenches with a combined length of 403 linear metres. No buried archaeological features were identified during the test excavation. In particular, no buried sites or features were identified at the location of the potential ring ditch.
