A 4m-long trench was excavated at the rear of No. 39. It had a width of 1.2m and reached a depth of between 1m and 1.46m at the centre. Natural was seen at the base.  Modern dumped rubbish was recorded in the upper deposits, and the main fill was a mixed backfill with no dateable material. No archaeological features or deposits were observed or exposed within the trenches. No further mitigation works are recommended for this proposed development site.
