Archaeological monitoring was carried under licence of stripping-out works at 7a St Francis St, Galway. The site is a building which was formerly part of the Sisters of Mercy convent at Francis Street, Galway. It is adjacent to the site of the Franciscan Friary (GA094-102—). No architectural features were identified. The walls were of random rubble construction of probable late 19th-early 20th-century date. No re-used architectural fragments were noted.
