A programme of archaeological monitoring of excavations for a housing development at Kylebroghlan, Moycullen, Co. Galway was completed by the author. There are no known or recorded monuments in the vicinity. Historic aerial photography indicates that the site had undergone significant disturbance since at least 2009 and has been used as a site compound/storage facility/materials deposition area for adjacent housing developments in the intervening years. The ground on site was largely uneven with mounds of gravel in parts and stockpiled wooden pallets and scrap timber.
The subsoil comprised a brownish-yellow clay. This overlay bedrock. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the site inspections. No further mitigation is recommended.
