Test excavation was undertaken undertaken on lands at Hawthorn Cottages, Balgriffin Td, Dublin 17 on 29 May 2026. Three trenches measuring a total of 115 linear meters were excavated across the site.
No buried archaeology was identified and no earthworks were identified at the townland boundary location. The boundary at this location appears to have been arbitrarily set back from the Mayne watercourse and not physically marked.
No further archaeological works are recommended.
