Archaeological monitoring of a proposed extension of Middle Abbey Lands in Killiney, Co. Dublin was carried out as part of a condition of planning. The property is located within the Killiney Architectural Conservation Area (ACA) and is listed as a protected structure; the protection extends to the building’s interior, its boundary walls, and the land surrounding it. It is also within the SMR zone of DU026-013—-Killiney, an ecclesiastical site.  There are another six RMPS within the ecclesiastical site including a church, font, graveyard, cross, ecclesiastical enclosure and inscribed stone. The proposed site lies within this protected zone.

The only notable archaeological feature is this linear ditch (F1), with a maximum width of 2.2m at its base and 2.5m at its top and a maximum a height of 2m. This was infilled with modern material, including concrete fragments. The feature is post-medieval and is depicted on the 3rd edition OS map and is likely a former field boundary.
