The works described under Works Number W000777 and Ministerial Consent C001422 involved archaeological monitoring undertaken on 29 and 30 July 2025 of groundworks for the installation of two Pay and Display machines and eight associated signage poles at the Glendalough Visitor Centre car park, located in the townland of Brockagh, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow. The site lies within the bounds of Glendalough (WI023-008), a National Monument (No. 134).
The pits measured between 0.4m × 0.4m and 0.5m × 0.5m, with depths of approximately 0.4–0.5m. Natural ground was encountered in one instance only (Pit 2), where shaley stone was exposed at a depth of 0.4m; in all other pits natural ground was not reached.
No archaeological features, deposits, or artefacts were identified during the monitoring.
