Aerial imagery, an on-site inspection, discussions with the landowner and archaeological monitoring confirm that extensive regrading of the site took place when the original house was built in the townlands of Haylands and Blessington, Co. Wicklow. The entire site was lowered by several metres when the existing house was built. Archaeological monitoring confirms the site was already reduced by several metres in places when the original family home was built as it was built into the bank of a gravel hill. The existing ground level comprises natural gravels and no finds or features of archaeological significance were exposed.
