Aisling Collins and Jacqueline Mac Dermott conducted archaeological monitoring of topsoil removal for the proposed McDonald’s site on R700/Ring Road, Porterstown, New Ross.
The stratigraphy was consistent across the site with a loose red clay with shale and stone inclusions, with topsoil comprising of a loose brown clay with small stones and grass overlying this. There were no archaeological features and there are no further recommendations.
