An archaeological assessment (testing) was carried out in September 2024 at Milltown, Dennistown, Sallystown, Co. Wexford. The site lies south of Wexford and to the southeast of Murntown. The access to the site is from the north via the existing access lane off L7098. The site consists of undulating arable land and measures c. 40ha.
A total of 79 test trenches were excavated to the natural subsoil, which comprised orange/brown silty clay with frequent small sub-angular stones. In general the topsoil measured 0.2-0.3m in depth. One potentially prehistoric pit (C3) was identified within Trench 15.
