Testing was undertaken as part of a further information request by Waterford City and County Council. Maurice F. Hurley Archaeological Consultants were commissioned to carry out an archaeological assessment for a proposed development in the townland of Kilcohane, Killure Road, Co. Waterford. As part of the assessment, a geophysical survey was undertaken by Joanna Leigh (Licence 25R0227). The survey did not detect any obvious patterns of archaeological interest, with agricultural trends dominating the dataset.
Nine trenches were excavated across the proposed development site. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered in any of the trenches.
