Archaeological monitoring was undertaken of all groundworks associated with a single house redevelopment at 1 Park Gate,  Jacknell Street, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, X35 HP22. The site is situated within the historic walled town of Dungarvan.

Once the concrete floors/surfaces were removed from three internal rooms and the area of the existing extension, levels of excavation into the underlying soil measured on average 0.15 m deep. This material consisted of a disturbed mid- to dark greyish-brown silt with modern rubbish deposits. A clay pipe ran through all three areas which fed a manhole which was located in the existing extension area.

Nothing of archaeological nature was observed during archaeological monitoring.
