2025:288 - Hodson Bay, Barrymore, Roscommon

Archaeological monitoring of groundworks was recommended as condition of planning for the construction of an Eco-village on the western shore of Lough Ree, part of further development at Hodson Bay Hotel. One recorded archaeological monument (RO049-010) is located at the northern end of the site close to Housing Unit 3. A full archaeological presence was maintained during the removal of topsoil at the site compound, the pumping station and wayleave for the sewerage pipe, and at locations for the three housing units. No features or finds of archaeological
significance were found in any of the areas cleared of topsoil.
