A programme of Archaeological Monitoring of trench excavations for a new Electricity Pole and associated Stays Supports was undertaken at Moymet, Co. Meath. The works were located immediately outside the eastern extent of the RMP Zone established with respect to a Field System (SMR No: ME020-034). The monument is described in the HEV as having an area of about 2 ha (c. 5 acres),  occupied by relict field banks (Wth of base 3.5-4.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H c. 0.5m) and silted ditches (Wth c. 1.5-2m; D c. 0.2-0.4m) and creating at least four small square fields (dims c. 30m x c. 20m) and some larger ones; ridge and furrow cultivation was noted in only one of the larger fields, and only one possible house site, visible as a grass-covered platform (dims 7.5m x c. 4m; H 0.3m) was identified when inspected in 1984. The area seems to have been reclaimed by 2000.

Notification of the works was submitted to the National Monuments Service, as required under Section 12(3) of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994, which recommended that all ground disturbance associated with the works be monitored by an archaeologist and under licence from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

No subsurface features of archaeological interest or potential were uncovered by the excavations; likewise, no artefacts of archaeological or historical interest were recovered.
