Archaeological monitoring of ground investigation works along the emerging preferred route of the Navan–Oldbridge Boyne Valley Greenway, Co. Meath, was undertaken intermittently between March and June 2025. The works comprised test pits, inspection pits, boreholes, dynamic probes, foundation pits and slit trenches within both greenfield areas and existing towpaths associated with the Boyne Navigation. The route traverses a highly sensitive archaeological landscape, including sections of the buffer zone of the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site. No archaeological features, finds or deposits were identified, and no recorded monuments or zones of notification were impacted. The results indicate extensive made ground along historic towpaths and riverine/alluvial deposits within greenfield floodplain areas.
