A total of 30 test trenches were excavated. Each trench measured 1.8m in width, and in total, 835m of linear trenches was excavated. The topsoil ranged from a mid-brown silty clay to a dark brown silty clay. The natural varied from a mottled light grey and orange clay to a grey gravel to a grey sand. Modern agricultural features were noted in the trenches in the form of cultivation furrows, field drains, field ditches and a culvert lined in cut stone and covered in broken shale. No archaeological structures, features or deposits were identified within the trenches, therefore the proposed development will have no impact on archaeological features. No further work is recommended.
