A programme of archaeological test trenching was undertaken in the townland of Caheranardrish, Mungret, County Limerick.  Two recorded monuments lie within the proposed development area: an enclosure (LI013-005) and a fulacht fia (LI013-221). A geophysical survey carried out in 2025 identified potential archaeological anomalies, but no definitive archaeological remains (25R0253).
Test trenching was carried out across the proposed development area and revealed  a subcircular pit (C27.1) containing silty clay with heat-affected stone and charcoal flecks, designated as Archaeological Area 1. The pit, measuring 0.80 m (NW-SE) x 0.73m (NE-SW), was located approximately 80m southeast of the previously excavated fulacht fia (LI013-221). The identified pit C27.1 was likely associated with the excavated site.
