Archaeological monitoring of 394m of Uisce Éireann watermains installation took place within the urban core of Mountmellick. The encountered stratigraphy consisted of modern road strata overlying natural clayey sand, which was interuppted with modern services and hardcore fill. Occassional lenses of grey-brown silt and stone or mortar and crushed red brick layers were encountered.
No archaeology was found.
