Archaeological testing was undertaken within the north-west portion of the proposed development area with 7 trenches excavated in total. Investigation showed that the northern portion of the test area had been heavily disturbed in the past. In contrast the southern portion of the site appeared to have been relatively undisturbed. Evidence for former agricultural activity, in the form of plough furrows, was recorded within this area of the site. These are not considered to have archaeological significance.
