Archaeological monitoring of a cable trench excavation was carried out at Garbally Demesne, Co. Galway on 25 June 2025. The development site had been subject to testing and excavation in 2023 (2023:896) and monitoring in 2024 (2024:894). The cable trench was located immediately southwest of the previously monitored area. It extended 20m west-north-west/east-south-east, and was 0.6m wide and 1m deep. The excavation revealed 0.45m of recent overburden, over 0.2m of topsoil, over light yellow/brown silty sand subsoil and grey sand, gravel and stone. No archaeology was found.
