A total of 53 test trenches were excavated. Each trench measured 1.8m in width, and in total, 2,853m of linear trenches were excavated. The topsoil ranged from a mid-brown clayey silt to a dark brown silty clay. The natural varied from a grey and brown gravel to sand to a grey or orange clay.

Several modern agricultural features were noted in the trenches, in the form of field drains, stone drains, furrows and ditches. No artefacts were uncovered during the course of the test excavations, including through the use of a metal detector. No archaeological features or deposits were observed or exposed within the trenches; therefore, the proposed development will have no impact on archaeological features.
