The monitoring of groundworks of an electrical utility project was carried out on a site located within the zone of archaeological potential of a castle–tower house (DU015-025—), known locally as Corr Castle. The groundworks were completed in one day in August 2025.

The groundworks involved excavating a cable trench from the existing substation box and a trench for a new cable unit box. A thin layer of sod and topsoil was removed to reveal an underlying layer of made-up ground composed of a mix of gravel and soil.

A roughly 1.5m by 1.5m area was excavated for the new cable unit box. A depth of 0.5m was dug for this and the cable trench. The cable trench ran for a length of roughly 4m to 5m and was 0.5m to 0.6m wide. Several existing cables were exposed during the excavation.

No archaeological features or artefacts were uncovered during the monitoring of groundworks. The site consisted of disturbed, made-up ground.
