Licensed archaeological monitoring related to the construction of an apartment block at the rear of 92A, Harold’s Cross Road/St Clare’s Avenue in Dublin was undertaken in August 2025.
Monitoring was undertaken of the removal/clearance of the demolished sheds and front boundary wall material in August 2025. All works were undertaken using a 3.5 tonne mini-track machine. Clearance was undertaken to an average depth of 0.65m, following which the foundations/ground plan of the proposed development was set out. Standard rip trench foundations were excavated to a depth of between 0.5m to 2m. No subsurface deposits, features or previous walls were noted during the monitoring.
