Archaeological monitoring took place in Kiltipper Park, Tallaght, Co. Dublin between 3 and 5 December 2025 under extension to licence 25E0456. This followed archaeological investigations as part of an Impact Assessment on the viewing platform site which took place in May 2025. The archaeology uncovered during the impact assessment comprised 5 articulated skeletons and 13 possible or likely graves alongside 5 post-holes, 2 pits and the terminus of a large, possibly enclosing, ditch. Subsequently, archaeological monitoring of the removal of spoil heaps to allow for geophysical survey was undertaken between 29 July and 5 August 2025. The geophysical survey was undertaken on 7 August under licence no 25R0305 to Bart Korfanty. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during this survey.

Two options were proposed by SDCC to the NMS in order to progress with the construction. In collaboration with NMS the decision was made to choose Option A: Do Nothing – Protect Remains & Backfill to Existing Ground Level. The plans to construct a viewing platform (Option B: Simplified Design) may be revisited at a later date. These reinstatement works required archaeological monitoring at all stages. Works were undertaken between 3 and 5 December 2025. Monitoring was undertaken under an extension to licence 25E0456.

Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during the course of the most recent monitoring works at Kiltipper Park.
