A programme of archaeological monitoring was undertaken in the western portion of a development site fronting onto Prussia Street associated with Nos 29b, 30 and 31. A number of masonry and brick walls were identified that appeared to correlate with structures depicted on the three plots in the 19th and 20th centuries. A former carriage access lane was identified to the north, dating to the late 19th century at the earliest. A similar laneway was inferred to the south, though the surface itself was not identified. The wall defining the north side of the laneway exhibited a number of alterations, reflecting the changes within the plot to the north in the late 19th and early 20th century.
No evidence for earlier structures or features was identified during the monitoring works.
