Dublin City Council, Housing and Community Services is engaging in a phased regeneration project at Dolphin House, Dolphin’s Barn, Rialto, Dublin 8. An archaeological assessment of Block 1b was carried out to accompany a Part 8 application. Archaeological monitoring of geotechnical site investigations formed part of the assessment.
A series of 11 test pits, 3 percolation holes and 4 bore holes were monitored. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified and it was recommended, subject to the acceptance of the statutory bodies, that no further archaeological works were necessary at this site.
