Archaeological monitoring was completed in advance of a development at the junction of the R139 Road and Hole in the Wall Road, Donaghmede, Dublin 13. The site lies just east of the zone of archaeological potential for a Recorded Monument and Place, DU015-069 (Church & graveyard). The site was extensively disturbed with modern water mains and sewers and no features of archaeological features were encountered. Five small artefacts recovered from the topsoil are twelfth to thirteenth century in date. These include a stone spindle whorl and four sherds of Dublin-type ceramics all likely derived from the adjacent Grange Abbey.
