A programme of archaeological testing consisting of two linear trenches with a combined length of 24m was undertaken at the site to inform any potential impacts on unrecorded subsurface archaeological features associated with the permitted development. One of the trenches uncovered construction rubble and foundations from a previously demolished structure – depicted on the 6-inch OS historic map – along with a stone-lined culvert drain likely linked to the former building.
