The archaeological excavations were conducted by Lir Archaeology Heritage and Planning Consultancy from 1 September to 12 September 2025. Previous archaeological test trenching conducted in two fields identified several scattered deposits across the proposed development site (Licence No. 21E0227). Three agreed exclusion zones around known archaeological deposits were maintained during all works. In total, approximately 1300 square meters across four areas were excavated for archaeological investigation (Areas A-D). The excavation uncovered disturbed remains of burnt mound material dating to the Middle Bronze Age (1518–1420 cal BC). The excavation also uncovered remains of five modern industrial waste deposits.

In addition, archaeological monitoring was conducted during ground levelling operations to identify any supplementary sub-surface archaeological features or deposits. No further archaeological features or artefacts were detected during monitoring.
