Pre-planning archaeological testing was carried out on a large site in advance of a proposed residential development. Twenty-eight trenches were excavated across the site. Seven features of archaeological significance were identified, five in a large field at the northwest and two more in an eastern field. A number were partially investigated by hand and were small pits containing charcoal-rich fills, interpreted as probable roasting pits. No finds were identified. Further archaeological works will be carried out if development proceeds.
