Masonry conservation works were carried out at Rathbarry church in 2025 under Ministerial Consent C001416, funded through the Community Monuments Fund. The church retains a fine thirteenth-century triple-lancet east window and an adjacent trefoil-headed piscina and single-light lancet window in the south wall. The western half of the church is a later addition and the ruined tower at the west end probably dates to the early 17th century. The 2025 works were concentrated on: the rear-arch of the east window embrasure, the interior sill of the east window, exterior facework mid-way along the south wall, exterior facework over the south doorway, and loose masonry along the slopes of the east gable.

No sub-surface excavations were required.
