An archaeological test excavation was undertaken in Brookpark townland, Dunmanway prior to a scheduled upgrade to the sewerage network for the town. Testing was undertaken in agricultural land to the east and south of Brookpark House adjacent to the Brewery river. A total of 15 test trenches were excavated and, aside from the exposure of a possible modern drainage feature in Test Trench 6 to the east of Brookpark House, no other features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed.
