Archaeological testing was carried out at Barryscourt, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork on 23–24 June 2025, in advance of a proposed underground grid connection.

A total of 12 trenches were excavated. Modern field drains were present in Trenches 5, 6, 9 and 10, while Trenches 1 –4 showed signs of modern disturbance in the form of agricultural debris.

A shallow linear feature in the centre of Trench 12 corresponded with a modern linear field boundary depicted on the first edition 6-inch Ordnance Survey map. No previously unknown features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance were found during the course of this programme of testing.
