The topsoil had an average depth of 0.3m, but the foundation trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.8-1.3m. The topsoil was removed onto the natural subsoil. The southern foundation trench had a modern drain running north-north-east from the south. This drain measures 1.2m in width, and it has straight sides and an orange plastic pipe at the base. Stains of dark grey were visible in the eastern extent of the southern foundation trench. It was a sand deposit and scraped away with a trowel.
No archaeological features or deposits were identified, and no finds were recovered.
