A programme of archaeological monitoring for a proposed development was undertaken at Burrow Road, Rosslare, Co. Wexford. The Rosslare Coastal Erosion and Flood Relief Scheme (CEFRS) has been established in the Government’s National Development Plan 2018-2027, and officially approved by Wexford County Council in December 2021.

The proposed scheme comprises a c. 2 km-long wall or embankment on the seaward side of Strand and Burrow Roads, replacing the existing informal embankment created by residents.

No archaeological features or deposits predating the late 19th – 20th centuries were encountered during the programme of archaeological monitoring and metal detection.
