A single test trench which was excavated on 9 September 2024 in advance of an inner relief public road to access a proposed residential development in the townland of Knockmullen, Gorey, Co. Wexford. Planning permission for the Public Inner Relief Road was granted in 2023 subject to a number of conditions including Condition 10 for an impact assessment with test trenching. The access road will have a length of approximately 135m and the trench excavated was 120m in length as an exclusion zone for overhead wires was required.
No finds or features of archaeological significance were exposed in this trench.
