Archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the development of an extension to the road network within the IDA Business and Technology Park, Ardmore, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, partly within the Zone of Notification for ringfort WM019-082 did not reveal any archaeological features, deposits or artefacts.

There have been several previous phases of investigation in relation to the IDA Business and Technology Park. Monitoring of topsoil stripping relating to the access was carried out in 2001 (Danaher 01E0827) but revealed nothing of interest. Initial test trenching (Byrne 02E1411) following geophysical survey did not reveal any archaeological features. Subsequent monitoring of the construction of Phase 1 of the access roads (Clutterbuck 04E1011) was similarly archaeologically sterile. Monitoring during groundworks relating to the construction of the first factory at the south of the site (Hull 14E0058) did not reveal any archaeology. More recently, test trenching was carried out on the site of another proposed commercial building to the north of the current development (Bayley 22E0476), again without any archaeological findings.
