The proposed work comprises the development of a Ground Mounted Solar PV Array in a green field area on the grounds of Cregg House, at Cregg Co. Sligo in the vicinity of SL008-128---- Ringfort - Rath. The programme of archaeological monitoring took place on various dates over the course of March to June 2024 that involved subsurface excavation including topsoil stripping works, including the insertion of manholes and ducting. SL008-128---- is visible to the east of the proposed development area, as a raised site of dense wood and vegetation cover.
No previously unidentified finds or features of archaeological significance were noted during the monitoring of the groundworks for the solar development at Cregg, Co. Sligo.
