Archaeological test excavations took place on 16 September 2024 on the site of a proposed housing development, located at Friarspark, Trim, Co. Meath (Friarspark 1st division townland, Trim Parish, Barony of Lower Moyfenrath).

Two test trenches were excavated across the site, totalling 46 linear metres. The overburden within the trenches consisted of a mid- to light brown stony clay. This was 0.4‑0.7m deep in Trench 1 where it overlay a natural mid-brown sand. In Trench 2, 0.15‑0.3m of the stony clay layer was excavated onto a compact orange stony clay subsoil. The excavated material was interpreted as a levelling layer introduced to the site following previous construction works at the wider housing estate. It was further concluded that the site was previously stripped and filled in the course of these previous construction works.

No buried archaeological sites, features or objects were recorded during the current test excavation.
