The proposed development comprised a private dwelling house, shed, access road and percolation area and located on grounds adjacent to the south of an early ecclesiastical enclosure containing church (MA087-028001-) graveyard (MA087-028002-) and ritual site/holy well (MA087-028003-). The proposed access road runs along the eastern external edge of the graveyard. Local tradition holds that St Patrick`s charioteer Totmaol was buried at this site and that the site contained a large pillar or orthostat which was damaged or removed sometime in the past.

A total of 18  test trenches 1.2m wide were cut by grading bucket and nothing archaeological turned up.  There is no evidence that burials were carried out outside the graveyard walls.
