2024:778 - Rosduagh, Rossport, Mayo

The development is large in scale – 0.89 hectares and is subject to archaeological testing. Consultation has taken place between the Applicant and the Senior Archaeologist from the planning department in Mayo County Council.
Planning permission is to construct a new clamping site together with space for camping tents, polytunnel, community vegetable plot, 4 clamping pods, 9 camper van spaces and facilities for toilets and showers which will be connected to the water mains and sewerage.

Topsoil varied from 0.72–0.8m deep. The natural was generally an orange iron pan subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was found during the testing programme.
