2024:568 - Extension to Hotel Westport, Westport Demesne, Westport, Mayo

Archaeological monitoring was carried out during groundworks associated with the development of an extension to Hotel Westport, Westport Demesne, Westport, Co. Mayo. Although the development site includes the entire hotel complex, most work relates to internal alterations to the existing hotel buildings. The only area requiring ground disturbance was at the west where the existing function room was demolished and a new extension constructed. Monitoring of works in this area did not reveal any archaeological features, deposits or artefacts.
