The author was engaged by the Turlough Archaeological and Historical Society to carry out archaeological monitoring of works along the Green Bank for the wall extension at the site of the round tower in Turlough, Castlebar Co Mayo. A specific archaeological method statement was required by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in relation to the graveyard wall refurbishment at Turlough Church and Round Tower (National Monument No. 100). On receipt of the method statement the department issued a S14 Ministerial Consent number - C000981 for the repair works to the graveyard wall in proximity to Turlough Church (MA070-144001-) and Round Tower (MA070-144002-), County Mayo. The wall is now refurbished and nothing of archaeological significance was found during these works.
