Archaeological testing was carried out on a site at Ardee Street, Collon, Co. Louth prior to a housing development. The site was occupied by an abandoned single-storey house and its garden. Three trenches were excavated across the site. The trenches revealed a high degree of modern disturbance. A number of modern service trenches and wastewater pipes were uncovered. Vegetation in the grounds of the house had caused a great amount of root disturbance. Trenches were dug to a depth of 0.3m to 0.7m, the natural was a mix of silty clay and gravel.
No archaeological features were found during testing.
