Archaeological monitoring took place of a single residential development. The groundworks were situated within 128m², consistent with the footprint of the development. It achieved a depth of 0.75m beneath the current ground surface. It was found that the underlying stratigraphy consisted of 0.4m river rolled stone and sandy clay onto 0.3m of grey-brown clay and stone inclusions with remaining basal layer of grey-white silty sand. Limestone bedrock also rose up on the south side of the site to c. 35m beneath the original ground surface. All materials of an artefactual nature were of 20th-century date, namely red brick, crockery sherds, glass bottle fragments and an iron window frame. No materials, structures, deposit or artefacts of an archaeological nature were encountered.
