Archaeological test-excavations were carried out on 11 September 2024on a 1.7-hectare greenfield site in Leggetsrath West townland, in the Hebron district to the east of Kilkenny City, as part of an Archaeological Impact Assessment relating to the proposed construction of seven serviced sites for industrial units, part of an extension of the Hebron Industrial Estate east of the N10 Kilkenny ring-road.

A total of 14 trenches were excavated, using a mechanical digger with a flat grading bucket.  The excavated trenches were 1.55m in width, with lengths varying from 32-60m, and with a maximum depth of 0.4m.

No archaeology was identified during testing.
